Assessment
Criteria
Each assessment contains the following:
Standard
- title and description
- learning outcome(s) - explains purpose
- weighting
- due date/time
- instructions written with active verbs
- exemplars
- feedback proforma and expected timing
- marking criteria matches the course learning outcomes/purpose

Extension policy
Criteria
Late submission and extensions policy.
Standard
- The following needs to be clearly articulated in the Course Outline and Learnonline site:
Assignment submission requirements
1. All assignment submissions are to be made through ‘Learn on Line’ unless otherwise stated in the Course Outline.
2. Unless an extension has been requested by the student and granted by the Course Coordinator due to exceptional circumstances*, assignments can be submitted up to three exact days after the due date and time, but will be marked from a P2 maximum grade.
3. All extension requests must be made to the Course Coordinator using Learn on Line.
4. Extensions must be requested at least 2 days prior to the submission date. (Exceptional* circumstances will be considered by the CC. Supporting evidence must be provided)
*NB: Unexpected or Exceptional circumstances will be considered by the Course Coordinator.
Supporting evidence must be provided.

Assessment instruments
Criteria
Instructions for completing each assessment.
Standard
- are clear and achievable
- required elements are clearly specified
- the expected time to complete the assessment fits within the course schedule
- jargon and acronyms are used only if previously defined
- there are no “assumed” steps or knowledge
- referencing is accurate

Assessment Feedback
Criteria
Timely feedback is provided to students in accordance with university policy as per section 1.4 of the APPM.
Standard
- feedback on assessment tasks will normally be provided within ten working days, but no longer than 15 working days following the deadline for submission of the assessment task.
- if a subsequent assessment task builds on earlier assessment tasks, the earlier assessment task will be returned at least ten working days before the deadline for submission of the later assessment task (or equivalent for intensive teaching)
