Intercultural learning is a strategic approach which aims to develop an individual's ability to act and relate appropriately and effectively in various cultural contexts; that is, to develop his or her intercultural competence.
It enables the individual to value the norms and expectations of the cultures in which he or she moves, and accomplish his or her goals.
Intercultural competence involves four elements: skills, attitudes, culture and communication.
