Wirringka Student Services
The word ‘wirringka’ means ‘together and in common with’ in the Kaurna language. Wirringka Student Services offers Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students a friendly, comfortable and supportive place to study. Wirringka Student Centres are accessible at all UniSA campuses including regional locations with staff available by phone, email and skype for external and UniSA Online students. Our Aboriginal Student Engagement Officers can assist to answer any questions you may have and are available to help you at any point of your student life, if you are preparing to study, are a current student or alumni.

Access and Inclusion
Access and Inclusion services are all about supporting and empowering students to achieve their academic goals and participate equitably in all aspects of university life. Access and Inclusion Officers provide advice and guidance in relation to access, adjustments and inclusive practices for students who have a disability, impairment or chronic health condition and those with significant caring responsibilities.
The Access and Inclusion Officer for Mount Gambier is Dallas Dunn. Dallas is located in Adelaide and visits Mount Gambier in March each year. At all other times during the year Dallas can be reached by Skype or phone.
The service is free and confidential, and open to all UniSA students including internal and external and those studying online, as well as prospective students. Appointments with an Access and Inclusion officer are via phone. -
Career Services
Students decide to embark on university studies for many different reasons. For some it might be to forge the pathway to a new career and for others to take the next step in a new direction or seek a promotion. When you’re at university, you can sometimes forget about your career goals particularly as you get tied up with your studies and assignments. Career Development Planning is one of the most important aspects of university life, and the Career Services team is here to support you with achieving your career goals. We offer an extensive range of services, resources and tools to help you plan your career, get yourself ready for the workplace and most importantly find a job in your chosen field.
The Career Services team develop workshops specifically for regional students. You will receive notification as these become available.

Counselling
UniSA’s Counselling Service offers free and confidential short-term counselling to students studying onshore in Australia to help with managing any personal issues that could affect your studies.
Our Counsellors are highly qualified and have extensive experience working with university students. They will listen to your concerns without judgment and work with you, exploring options and solutions that suit your needs.
Counsellors assist students with a wide range of issues including:
- assisting with personal issues affecting your studies
- adjusting to change (new culture, university, city, academic expectations)
- managing stress, anxiety and depression
- learning about motivation, time management and exam stress
- offering support following a crisis or trauma
- dealing with sexual harassment or assault
- managing a personal or family crisis
Students in Mount Gambier, you can access free and confidential counselling from Liz Moriarty and Associates located at 10 Eleanor Street, Mount Gambier. To phone for an appointment, please call (08) 8723 1999. Please be ready to provide your student identification number to the counselling service.
