Resources, activities and processes supporting the development of tertiary learning and teaching grant applications.
This Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) Project identifies the diverse range of resources, activities and processes in tertiary institutions in Australia and New Zealand that support the development of scholarly applications for national learning and teaching grants. At its core is a mapping exercise to provide institutions with a means to estimate the quality and suitability of their respective resources, activities and processes, as well as possible alternatives and/or enhancements to improve their practice in the area.
The Project represents the first element of a five phase benchmarking model to enable universities to work towards better practice. By documenting practice across the sector, the project provides a wide-ranging and accessible data set to allow meaningful comparisons to be made. The resource also supports the preliminary identification of good practice in context (vis-à-vis the characteristics of individual institutions), which can benefit the sector as a whole.
Other key deliverables that arise from the Project are (1) a glossary of terms that relate to application development for learning and teaching grants, and (2) a regional symposia series in Australia and New Zealand in late 2015 to further disseminate research findings, showcase resources, and seek constructive stakeholder comments for improvement.
