  • Recognition for teaching as well as for community engagement

    2016 Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)This civil honour was conferred by the Australian Governor-General on the recommendation of the Council for the Order of Australia "for service to tertiary education, and to the community of South Australia". This award recognised more than 30 years of voluntary contribution to a number of organisations in the education, community and business sectors.

    2016 Award for Teaching Excellence: Conferred by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. This was one of the three national awards in the category "Law, Economics, Business and Related Studies", and was presented by Mr David Learmonth (right), Deputy Secretary, Department of Education and Training. This was UniSA's Business School/Division of Business first individual national award for teaching. You can download a copy of the Department of Education feedback on the application for this award.

    2014 UniSA Award for Teaching Excellence: For sustained, systematic research and evaluation that enables continuous improvement in learning approaches and enhances student engagement

    2012 UniSA Division of Business Award for Innovation in Teaching: For the Poster Plan approach for presenting major team and individual project work for immediate feedback

    2010 Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Citation: This national award was for sustained innovation in approaches that develop students' ability to relate classroom teaching to industry and community application

    2010 UniSA Division of Business Award for Supporting Student Learning: For using a live case study and diagnostic tools to engage students by giving them insight into the operations of a local business

    2009 UniSA Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: For sustained innovation in approaches that develop students' ability to relate classroom teaching to industry and community application

    2009 Commendation for the UniSA Chancellor's Award for Community Engagement: For support for the NABEC Business Awards Program

    1991 UniSA Award for Excellence in Teaching: Awarded with Patrick Forbes for the International Marketing Program, which took students to Asia, the Americas, and Europe and started many students in their international careers. (This was the first year in which the University offered this award)
