Topic outline

  • In their final study periods at University students start to realise that they need to plan for the next step in their life.  Where do they want to work, what do they want to do, how are they going to achieve this.

In order to secure a placement opportunity you will need to work closely with your course coordinator and Career Services.  You will need a clear idea of where you want to work, what you want to do and how are you going to achieve this.  In this module you will create three critical documents to move you toward finding your workplace opportunities.

You will need to generate the following.

    1. A list of five specific jobs you would like (including position/project descriptions, selection criteria and recruitment contacts)

    2. A list of 5 organisations offering workplace opportunities (now or in the last month)

    3. A professional standard résumé

    4. These will need to be submitted prior to an interview with your Course coordinator.

In this module you will investigate your strengths and weaknesses and create a SMART goal.  An extension of this is creating professional documentation such as your résumé.
