    How to use this website

    General layout

    This website provides online resources for students using learnonline, UniSA's online learning and teaching environment. The learnonline environment is made up of many software components with Moodle at the centre.

    The basic layout of the home page has text and links through the centre of the page. Generally, each week will have related text information, links to related files, and links to activities such as a forum. In addition to the structured course resources down the centre of the page, you also have information blocks on the left.

     

     

    Quick Links and Navigation

    In the top bar, there is the name of the unit that you currently have open. Below the top bar and on the left hand menu under Quick Links, you have navigation links that change as you change locations within the website. Any text that appears in the navigation bar is a link, and you can click on it to go to that location in Moodle.

    As you navigate through the unit's online resources, you may want to return to a access specific information or weeks.   We suggest you uses the Quick Links to access information and the numbers (1 - 13) to access the weeks.

    The Quick Links are designed to give you convenient access to important information and sites for the course. Each week is indicated by their number and these will provide you with the full content and text for that week. Initially when you enter the course you will see as you scroll down a summary of the weeks and information, to access more detailed information you will need to click on the weekly image or the Quick Links.

    In Moodle it's better to avoid using the 'next' and 'previous' button in your internet browser. Moodle also has "breadcrumbs" which is a set of navigation links you'll find at the top of each page.

     

    Viewing one week at a time

    You can choose to only view a week at a time. You do this by clicking on the week number button or scrolling down the course until you see the week graphic e.g.  . When you click on this image, only the week you’ve selected will be visible in the centre of the page. To move between weeks in this view, you click the week that you want to view at the top of the page or via the Quick Link menu.

    Weekly Content

    Each week has an electronic book. e.g. Image Study notes. You can access the book by clicking on this image.  Navigation between pages, when you are in the book, is by clicking on the page heading (top left hand menu) or the arrow at the bottom of that page in the book. You can print off these books if you prefer.

    Each book contains a slideshow in PPT format. They are saved in this format so that you easily print them in your choice of layout and so that you can go back to specific pages for review if desired. However, it is best to run them in slideshow mode when use view them for the first time (press F5) as some of the slides have animations.
