10. Help
Note that R has extensive help facilities. This is achieved by using the “?” command followed by the topic you help with. This will then automagically open a browser window with the help topic. For example, type
? mean
Towards the end of the help document, you will find examples, which is the first place I usually go to.
There are also a huge number of web sites with tutorials / videos / discussion boards. Google even understands what “R” means, so often I simply add “in R” to the end of the search terms that I need help with, and am usually pretty happy with the results.

If you visit these sites, you’ll probably notice that they often demonstrate different ways of doing the same thing. Everybody has their own style, and you’ll develop yours as you go along.
