LRS & Panopto Help
Student help resources for the Lecture Recording System and Panopto.
What is Panopto?
Panopto is the new software application that underpins the UniSA Lecture Recording System (LRS). The Echo360 lecture recording system was retired in June 2018 and replaced by Panopto; a more robust application with many new features to help with your studies. Old Echo360 recordings will remain available until they are archived at the end of 2019. Panopto recordings will remain available for three years following publication.
Automated lecture recording
Panopto is installed in 38 lecture theatres and will automatically start recording scheduled lectures 10 minutes past the hour and stop recording on the hour. The lecture recording is processed automatically and then published to your learnonline course site. You can access the video via the Lecture Recordings link in the Course Essentials block and view it as an interactive web session, download it as an MP4 or MP3 file for use on your mobile device or subscribe to the RSS feed of the lecture series.
Your course coordinator may use Panopto to create supplementary video resources for your course or enhance the automatic lecture recordings. These videos can be highly interactive and may include:
- presenter video
- presenter audio
- desktop capture
- inserted links
- inserted YouTube video
- attach a PDF file
- student discussion
Panopto helps to created quality interactive multimedia.
