Assessment Phase - Evaluating the Submissions & Assessments

The following options are available when viewing a student's submission:


Viewing the submission and peer assessments

  • Click on the submission title to access the student's submission.

This page contains an overview of all peer reviews of this assessment and enables you to view:

  • The student's submission. number 1 grey
  • The Assess button, which allows you to assess the submission. number 2 grey
  • The assessment of the submission by peers. number 3 grey 
  • The Assessment settings button, which allow you to evaluate the peer assessment and override the marks awarded if required. number 4 grey

Feedback for the Author

At the bottom of the student's submission page, you will also find the feedback section for the author. This section allows you to: 

  • Select the checkbox if you wish to publish this submission. Publishing a submission will make it available to all students as an example paper after the Workshop activity has been closed.  number 1 grey
  • The current calculated grade for the submission is displayed here. number 2 grey
  • To override the mark awarded for the submission, select the new mark from the drop-down menu. number 3 grey
  • If you want, enter feedback for the author of the submission. number 4 grey
  • Select Save and close if you have made any changesnumber 5 grey

Assessing the Submission

  1. Access the students submission below the Grading evaluation phase landing page.

  2. Click the 'Assess' button.

  3. Choose a grade for each aspect. number 1 grey
  4. If required, comment on the aspect you have just marked. number 2 grey

  5. Repeat steps 3. and 4. for all aspects.
  6. Provide overall feedback for the author of the submission. number 3 grey
  7. Choose the weight the submission is going to have. number 4 grey
  8. Click the option that you want to proceed, the options include; Save and show next, Save and close, Save and continue editing or Cancel. number 5 grey

Evaluating the Peer Review

    1. Access the students submission below the Grading evaluation phase landing page.
      Note: For this example Kaitlin is the student who has submitted and Chloe is peer reviewing her.

    2. Click on the Assessment Settings button. The 'Assessment form' and 'Overall feedback' links underneath this option contains a summary of Chloe's review but is a read-only view.

    3. Review the feedback that Chloe has given Kaitlin for her submission.
    4. At the bottom of this page, is the Assessment Settings, here you can choose to:
      • Select how much weight you want the assessment to have. number 1 grey
      • The current calculated grade for the submission is displayed here. number 2 grey
      • To override the mark awarded for the assessment, select the new mark from the drop-down menu. number 3 grey
      • If you want, enter feedback for the reviewer. number 4 grey
      • Select Save and close if you have made any changes. number 5 grey
