This presentation by Ms Cathy Mahar, one of UniSA's Research Connections Librarians, outlines some useful tips about accessing the vast range of library resources and services available to support students doing a PhD. Listen as current students do a mini-interview with Cathy in which they describe their research and where they have looked for information so far, and learn from a graduate who shares tips on what he wished he had known at the beginning of his PhD regarding literature searching and keeping track of what needs to be done at various stages of candidature.

*A NOTE ON MEETING WITH YOUR ACADEMIC LIBRARIAN WHEN COMMENCING YOUR HDR CANDIDATURE
Academic Librarians support each of the Academic Units, so ideally what commencing HDR students need to do is:1. contact the Ask the Library Service.2. Indicate that they are a HDR student and advise of their relevant Academic Unit. The student query will be forwarded to the appropriate Academic Librarian who will then contact them to arrange an appointment.In 2023 the Academic Librarians for each of the Units are as follows:- UniSA Education Futures, UniSA STEM: Adriana Ciccone and Steph Simons
- UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance / UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences: Lorien Delaney and Scott Dale
- UniSA Business and UniSA Creative (CW Creative based programs so Art and Architecture and Urban Planning) and the Law program: Gillian Yeend and Ashleigh Barber
- UniSA Justice and Society (all programs except Law) and UniSA Creative (Magill programs linguistics, creative writing etc): Karen Ayles
