Extension Task
Museums display pinned and preserved animals such as insects, especially butterflies, and arachnids (spiders) so we can learn about them.
Entomology is the study of insects and generally speaking often also includes spiders because arachnology is a very small area.
Watch the video showing how to pin a specimen and see if you can pin one too.
If you do not want to pin a bug you can complete a research task instead to gain the additional points.
Choose an insect and find out what they eat, where they live and record an interesting fact about your chosen insect.
Don't forget to write your name on the worksheet and get all the completed sections signed by your teacher to collect points.
