Topic outline

  • Module 3Module 3 - Arrays

    Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of this module you will be able to:

    • Create an array, a list of ordered numbers using MATLAB
    • Plot graphs using arrays and the plot command
    • Perform one-dimensional array operations
    • Use the cell environment to execute several lines of code in an M-file.

    Activities

To help you master this topic we have a series of activities for you to complete over a 1 week period. Please allow at least hours to complete these activities. All links will open in a new window.

    1READING
Read Section 4 of Introduction to MATLAB which describes how to construct arrays, use subscripts, perform calculations and also how to plot graphs using arrays in MATLAB. If you have any questions about using arrays in MATLAB, please raise this in this discussion forum.

    2DEMONSTRATION
Please watch this video demonstrating working with Arrays in MATLAB (1 hr). If you have any questions, please raise this in this discussion forum. Working with arrays (10.41) is the first video in a group of videos that will eventually replace the 1 hr video by Indu above.

    3PRACTICAL
Your third practical challenges you to work with Arrays in MATLAB to plot graphs. If you have any questions about this practical, please raise this in this discussion forum.
