1. Introduction to Excel
This module has been designed to introduce you to the Microsoft (MS) Excel program, part of the MS Office suite. Excel is a spreadsheet software that is often used to organise, analyse and display data.
On completion of this Module, you should be able to:
1: Confidently navigate data sets in Excel;
2: Confidently calculate counts and prevalence (%) in Excel;
3: Create and format tables in Excel to summarise data; and
4: Create a table and a graph to describe sub-groups within your sample;
5: Understand what a 'derived variable' is;
6: Create new variables from existing data;
7: Create categorical variables from continuous data; and
8: Create a graph to represent data for multiple groups and categories.
