Towards the end of the help document, you will find examples, which is the first place I usually go to.

There are also a huge number of web sites with tutorials / videos / discussion boards.  Google even understands what “R” means, so often I simply add “in R” to the end of the search terms that I need help with, and am usually pretty happy with the results.

In no particular order, the following are a few web sites that you might like to visit:

http://www.cookbook-r.com/

http://www.r-bloggers.com/how-to-learn-r-2/

http://www.statmethods.net/

If you visit these sites, you’ll probably notice that they often demonstrate different ways of doing the same thing.  Everybody has their own style, and you’ll develop yours as you go along.
