The time to release the new theme and moodle version upgrade has arrived!

The release will require a learnonline outage of 5 hours on Tuesday December 15 between the hours of 6AM and 11AM. This time has been carefully chosen to minimise the impact on users.

Reminder, the new theme has been designed to address the following:

  • A contemporary and professional look
  • Simple and consistent navigation
  • A consistent look and feel for all UniSA courses
  • Ensuring the students know how to find their way around a site to allow them to fully engage with the content from day one.

As the new theme has been designed to promote a cleaner more consistent look, it includes restricting the font, colours and course format. If you have used the built in styles, they will automatically transfer to the new styles. If you have manually added formatting such as font sizes and colours to your site the manual formatting will no longer be supported. Your content will transition with no intervention, however it will have the new theme formatting applied. For more information on the changes see What’s new in this release.

The TIU will offer a range of resources including one-on-one online consultation, online support guides and group workshops. Please visit TIU's Moodle Upgrade website to access resources and book consultations

Note about custom code: As with previous upgrades, if you have added custom code to your site you may find this is no longer supported. We are moving to Moodle 3.9, which no longer supports the previous version of bootstrap. If you have added custom code, please allow additional editing time prior to teaching to review your content. Please note, we do not support the addition of custom code, as it may lead to inconsistency in the student’s experience.
