The below is just a reminder of the upcoming decommissioning of the bespoke Moodle certificate
The bespoke certificate activity in Moodle, named UniSA Certificate, will be decommissioned from our installations in July 2022. This is an old activity with very limited functionality and was designed to function with earlier versions of Moodle. It has become increasingly difficult and time consuming to maintain this activity with each Moodle update.
Over 12 months ago, a more advanced and customisable certificate activity was added our installations. This activity is supported by Moodle HQ and as such will function correctly with each Moodle update.
Once the bespoke UniSA Certificate activity is decommissioned, all certificates that have been awarded to staff and students will no longer be available. Any staff or students requiring a copy of their certificates will need to ensure they download it before July. A list of all courses that have at least once instance of the bespoke UniSA Certificate can be found in the UniSA Moodle Certificate spreadsheet (UniSA login required). Please refer to the list if you are unsure if this change will impact you.
The following actions are strongly advised.
- Inform your course participants to download a copy of their certificate, or for past courses, you can download a spreadsheet with the information of certificates that were awarded .
- If a certificate activity is still required, re-create the certificate using the new certificate activity. See the Asklearnonline resource – Create a Custom Certificate for instructions.
