The annual upgrade to both learnonline and UniSA Online moodle LMS will occur will occur in December. The upgrade from Moodle 3.11 to Moodle 4.1 will require an outage of six hoursOutage details:

UniSA Online

Date: Tuesday December 5
Start time: 6.00am
Finish time: 12.00pm

learnonline

Date: Tuesday December 19
Start time: 6.00am
Finish time: 12.00pm

During these times, the respective LMS environment will not be available.

This times have been carefully chosen to minimise the impact on users.

Along with the standard Moodle 4.1 features, the following will be included in this release:

  • Whole of forum grading. Allows you to view all the posts a student make to a forum, so their entire contribution can be graded and not just each individual post.
  • Addition of a clock showing ACST positioned in the top right of the screen. The clock will appear on the Dashboard and on all pages where a button isn’t already using that space, e.g., the “Turn editing on” button.
  • Addition of a link to UniSA Ready in the help menu

In Moodle 4.0 Moodle HQ introduced an improved user experience when navigating courses, modules and other key areas. To address this, Moodle HQ now have the navigation elements appear as tabs within the context header. The content of menus and their content will change depending on your role within the course. See, Moodle 4.1 Navigation Changes, for an overview of this change within the assignment activity (Coordinator role).

The Technology Enhanced Learning team within the TIU are currently updating all Asklearnonline help resources to reflect this change.
