The Summative Peer Review of Teaching application has been designed to automatically send emails when a certain action has occurred. Below you will find a list of the email that you may receive (dependent on your role in the process).
Review Manager
The review manager may receive the following emails.
- Notification that the reviewee has agreed/disagreed to have the selected reviewers participate in the review. If the reviewee disagrees, the email will also include a link for you to see the reasons. At this point you can accept the reason and assign another reviewer, or not accept the reason and continue with the initial reviewer.
- Notification the the selected reviewers can/cannot participate in the review process. If they cannot participate, the email will also include a link to begin the process of assigning another reviewer.
- Notification if the reviewers cannot reach an agreement on the evaluation of teaching. If this occurs, the email will also include a link to begin the selection of a 3rd reviewer.
Reviewer
The reviewer may receive the following emails.
- Notification that you your participation has been requested in a summative peer review. The email will contain a link to the tool where you can agree to participate or decline to participate in the peer review.
- Once both reviewers have agreed to participate, an email will be sent informing you the review is ready to start. It will also contain a link to the tool where you can set up the pre-review meeting.
Reviewee
The reviewee may receive the following emails.
- Notification of the initiation of a Summative Peer Review of Teaching. The email will contain a link for you to get further information on the chosen reviewers. You will also be able to agree or disagree with the selection of reviewers at this point. If you have disagreed with the choice of reviewers, you will be required to enter a reason and send this to your Dean of Programs (named Review Manager within the application).
- If you disagreed with the selection of a reviewer, you will receive a notification indicating whether the review manager accepted or rejection of reasons for requesting for alternative reviewer(s).
- Confirmation email that both of the reviewers will participate in the review.
