In order to accepted for admission, international students are required to provide evidence of a suitable qualified supervisor. Definition of this is either a sonographer already registered with ASAR, a sonographer who has completed an Australian sonography qualification that is accredited by ASAR, a doctor who is qualified to practice as a radiologist in Australia.
Students are informed that in order to be eligible for accreditation with ASAR they must complete at least 60% of their scanning hours within Australia.
Students are informed that if the above condition is not met, if they are wanting to register with ASAR that they must do so via the ASMIRT pathway.
