The Medical Sonography curriculum development is an evolving process at UniSA. Curriculum content is in alignment with ASAR requirements.
Using an action research approach, the academic staff are engaged in regular evaluation of their own teaching practice and subject delivery. In addition to continuous updates of learning resources which is allowed for within the academic workload, we use a reflexive and analytical approach towards subject development.
An action research approach is adopted routinely to identify what is current knowledge in the discipline, how well did the learners perform in the course, what went well, seek feedback from the students in relation to what could have been improved, reflect on this data collected, and implement changes accordingly.
Feedback sought from peers as well as external stakeholders is also deliberated upon and appropriate changes made. A summative peer review of teaching is available to staff on request and compulsory at times of promotion or ending of an employment probation period.
New technologies and resources are incorporated in consultation with the learnonline education designers as well as UniSA Teaching and Learning experts.
This is an ongoing, dynamic process thus using research to engage students with cutting edge technology.
A course review template has recently been developed which is completed annually by the program director and course coordinator to ensure adequate content.
