Across our Courses, we ensure that all assessments are authentic to the content being covered and the clinical contexts being taught and examined.
To promote deep learning and to see students to engage more meaningfully with the course content, a wide range of assessments are used throughout the Courses.
As demonstrated across all of the learnonline sites, a range of summative assessments are used, such as image interpretation questions, case studies, electronic posters, peer reviews, reflective journals, online quizzes, and exams.
Clinical case scenarios are used in image interpretation questions to evaluate the students' ability to apply theoretical principles, logical thinking and critical reasoning to arrive at a provisional diagnosis and a list of differential diagnoses.
Formative assessments include ongoing online discussions surrounding various topics presented in journal articles and case scenarios, blogs, and quizzes.
Assessment approaches and details of clinical cases used in our courses are outlined in the attachment below.
Please also find copies of clinical assessments required of all students in the capstone Clinical Sonography Portfolio subject, as well as copies of our recent exams.
Please note that some exemplars of student's presentations may have their name spoken in the presentation which we have been unable to remove.
The Program Assessment Dashboard is below to demonstrate the variety of assessment used in the Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography (general).
