Students need to know where the goal posts are so that they can kick a goal! Comprehensive and specific written learning objectives, will help them to see the goal posts and will provide them with clear direction. Reviewing the learning objectives with the student on the first day of placement will help you to identify what they need to learn so that you can support them to source opportunities to promote the learning.
Learning objectives are written directly in the students PebblePad ELA workbook
Students should write 2 learning objectives for each 2 week block of placement
Students should review their learning objectives with you on the first day of their placement
Review progress or achievement of learning objectives during and then again at the end of placement
Help students to understand what helped them to achieve their learning objectives
Help students to understand how to overcome any barriers that prevented them from achieving their learning objectives
Work with the student to develop a plan for their next placement
