Learning objectives
When you have completed this online workshop, you should have
- prioritised reasons for publishing your research
- familiarised yourself with models of scholarly publishing
- reflected on how, when and in what form you might publish your thesis
- examined the pro's and con's of publishing your thesis as you write it – the two-for-one approach
- learned how to choose and access outlets in which to publish your research findings, specifically
- journals
- conferences
- an appreciation of the importance of networking in having your research published
- a protocol for deciding who the authors are and in what order they should be listed on a joint publication
- an understanding of how to prepare your paper for publication, including
- writing the paper
- getting feedback from colleagues
- refining the paper
- submitting the paper.
