Aviation Awareness and Reflection Forum
Below you will see four discussion 'posts' (messages) and discussion 'threads' (strings of posts for that discussion topic) listed below.
You need to add to each discussion, by replying to the four topics (you can either reply to the original post by the teaching team, or to another student's reply).
- To reply to a forum post, click on the post name under 'Discussion' below. You will see the post. Click on the word 'Reply' at the bottom right.
- To see replies that have already been made to an original post, click on the number under 'Replies' below.
- You can search the forums by using the 'Search forum' box at the top right of this page.
- You can make a polite comment on other students' reply. Try to answer each question and comment on at least 2 posts.
Monitor the discussions to see what other students are writing (you are subscribed, so you will receive an email alert when someone else posts a message).
Questions to reflect on and discuss in these forums:
- What are some of the key considerations when working professionally with culturally diverse groups of people?
- What is the interplay of rank and communication in the Australian context? Or you might want to reflect on a comparison on communication between two cultures.
- How would you handle a misunderstanding in communication between someone from another culture and yourself?
- As someone who plans to work in the aviation industry, why is it important to understand the importance of culture and cultural interfaces in Aviation?
- Reflecting on the lectures for this course, what are some of the important ethical practices to consider about when working as a professional in Aviation Industry?
- Research and explore external resources on the Internet and describe what are some of the challenges in the Aviation Industry?
- Think and describe your preference for a type of career you would like to make in the aviation Industry and why. You might like to provide some support link/image/video etc. in support of your answer (for example, a link to an an image or a video or a website or an online document), and then explaining what it means to you.
