By understanding the way the Wheel model works, and its relationship to effective group practice, you can use the model to help diagnose problems with groups that are not achieving at optimal performance.
This section of the Working collaboratively Learning object will introduce you to a Focus sheet that can be used to investigate the cause of a group problem, relate it to a part of the Wheel model and use this information to get the group working again.
Some scenarios are presented for you as a quiz to practice investigating group practice using the Focus sheet and the Wheel model to guide your thinking.

1. Select a group that you know is not working well.

2. Review and/or download this Focus sheet and run through all the questions, thinking about the group that is not working. Use the focus sheet to identify the area(s) that need to improve to improve group dynamics.

3. Test your ability to diagnose group difficulties using this quiz containing 4 scenarios. Make sure you have your focus sheet handy. (Note: You will need to be logged in to access this quiz).
