Why should I record achievement?
There are not many jobs that don't have the ability to work in teams as part of the selection criteria.
Try this activity:
Go to http://www.careerone.com.au/ and select you discipline area from the Industry box and then enter the word team as a keyword. Perform the search. Review the job matches listed to appreciate the importance of effective team skills in your chosen profession.
When you do start applying for jobs in your new profession, it is highly likely that you will want to draw on your University experiences of Graduate Quality 4 (collaboration skills) as evidence to justify your claim.
The easiest and most comprehensive way to do this is to record your achievements in the area of collaboration as you progress through the courses of your program.
The University has specifically designed web-based software called Maraha ePortfolio.
By the time you finish your study you can have a detailed record (Graduate Qualities Portfolio) of your achievements and experiences in each of the Graduate Qualities and this can be used to prepare convincing applications for jobs. From this record you can select the relevant achievements and experiences for evidence for employment packages.
