Oral presentation resources
Oral communication skill is listed as one of the 10 skills required of a graduate (Graduate Careers Australia 2016).
Students are expected to verbally communicate with various stakeholders in the university and while undertaking their professional placement. It is important that this skill is developed in the study program.
In this section, you will find resources that will help you scaffold your students' oral communication skills. These resources address general points about oral presentations and oral communication skills in tertiary courses.

Video presentation for students prepared by Dr Shashi Nallaya. Covers the process of delivering an effective presentation. Includes information on how to best communicate the message, slide preparation, speaking style and presentation style.
This presentation can be shown to students as a video, or as an interactive online presentation, which can be controlled by the student. The students watch the presentation on 'players' which allow them to move forward or back through the slides, progress at their own speed, annotate or highlight individual slides, and search the text.
