What is the Packaged Bachelor + Master Program?
Our packaged programs allow you to apply for both your Undergraduate program and the Master of Teaching (Secondary) Program (MMET) via the one code at the same time through SATAC.
View all our packaged Master of Teaching (Secondary) options here: https://study.unisa.edu.au/careers/how-do-i-become-a-teacher/secondary/
Students that did not apply for the packaged program can apply for entry into the Master of Teaching (Secondary) program through SATAC.
-
Who can help me with my course selection and program advice?
Even though you have been offered a place in the Undergraduate and Masters package, you must still meet the Master of Teaching (Secondary) entry requirements.
It is important that you have the foundation background and specific focus of courses in your Undergraduate degree. This includes skills and courses associated with the major learning area.
More information on entry requirements can be found here: https://study.unisa.edu.au/careers/how-do-i-become-a-teacher/entry-requirements/
During your undergraduate degree, the school office for your current undergraduate degree will be able to assist you with program advice.
Once you have been admitted into the MMET (Secondary) program, please contact the School of Education Teaching and Learning team for all program related enquires. Email EDC-TeachingLearning@unisa.edu.au

What happens when I finish my undergraduate degree? Do I need to reapply for the Master of Teaching (Secondary) program?
You do not have to reapply via SATAC for entry into the Masters program.
At various times throughout Study period 5 in the third year of your undergraduate program, you will be contacted by your Program Director and local Admissions Office to confirm your interest in progressing to the Master of Teaching (Secondary) upon completion of your undergraduate program.
It is important that you advise your local Admissions Office when prompted, as to what Learning Area you wish to be considered for. You will also be instructed to submit a Teaching Capabilities Statement (see section below).
Once your undergraduate courses have been assessed for suitable Learning Areas, the local Admissions Office will contact you and advise of the next steps.
The packaged pathway does not guarantee a place in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) program. You will still need to meet the Learning Area requirements, meet the minimum GPA requirements and pass a Teaching Capabilities Statement.
-
Do I need to submit a Teaching Capabilities Statement?
Yes, you will need to submit and pass a Teaching Capabilities Statement (TCS) before your eligibility for the MMET Secondary program can be assessed.
Further information on the TCS can be found here: https://study.unisa.edu.au/careers/how-do-i-become-a-teacher/entry-requirements/
