LHSE students must undertake a Major and Sub-Major, chosen from the list below, as part of their program sequence.

A Major consists of 8 courses within one key subject area, and a Sub-Major consists of 6 courses in a second subject area.

Please refer to the enrolment advice template for specific course codes. It is recommended that you contact the Teaching and Learning Team for a personalised study plan, particularly if you are new to the Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours); or have not followed standard full-time enrolment advice to date.

*Please note that the Catholic Studies Sub-Major will not be offered from 2024 onwards. Students who are currently studying the Catholic Studies Sub-Major will not be impacted by this change and should continue to follow the enrolment advice provided to them.

Please choose your Major and Sub-Major subject areas carefully - these should be subject areas that you enjoy and feel confident in studying. Changing you Major or Sub-Major part-way throughout your program is only possible in limited circumstances and will impact the length and cost of your degree. 

If you find that you are not enjoying the Major or Sub-Major you have chosen, please contact 
EDC-TeachingLearning@unisa.edu.au for advice, before withdrawing from any courses.
