To qualify for the Diploma in Languages, students must complete 36 units of study from their chosen languages major (English, French, Italian or Japanese) or other courses as approved by the Program Director.
***ADVANCED LANGUAGE STUDENTS*** Students who have SACE Stage 2 language or equivalent proficiency can enrol into the Language 2A courses. Enrolment into these courses requires course coordinator approval. Advanced language students then complete BOTH LANG 3034: Advanced Languages Studies: Translation and Research AND the relevant in-country course (either LANG 2039: Asian Languages in-Country or LANG 3036: European Languages in-Country).
***IMPORTANT NOTE RE: IN-COUNTRY COURSES*** These courses may not be offered every year depending on enrolment numbers. In such cases, the Program Director will recommend an alternative course. Please contact the MDLA Program Director for assistance with alternative course options.
