The multi-storey carpark is available to students, but can be quite expensive per day, and there are no discounts for students.

For more information contact the carparking office in the multi-storey carpark on 8204 3011.

Option 2. Park in the Surrounding Suburbs

Some students park in the surrounding suburbs and walk to FMC. Mitchel Park is a popular suburb for students (and staff) to park in. It is not reccomended that you walk back to your car at night after you have finished an afternoon shift (2300hrs). Note that all streets directly adjacent to the hospital are marked as no parking zones- it is your responsibility to ensure that you are legally parked.

Parking Fines

FMC security and Mitcham council are regularly checking for cars parked illegaly. You want to avoid a fine at all costs! On one day in 2014 six students received fines totaling $300... beware.

Darlington Upgrade Project

South Road is still being upgraded as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project. There may be considerable inconvenience to road users during the course of this project.

In late 2020, the new Flinders Medical Centre Train Station will open, as an extension of the Tonsley Line.  Catching the train to placement will be a lot less stressful and expensive wherever possible.
