GE digital radiography (DR) room. Used for general x-ray, full spine and long leg views.

Siemems DR room and Carestream OPG/Ceph unit.  Used for general x-ray and dental/skull views.

 

Room 3

Philips computed radiography (CR) room with chest unit and skull unit.  Used mainly for infant chests and skulls.

 

Room 4

 Philips Fluoroscopy (screening) room.  Used for contrast studies including; MCU’s, HSG’s, barium swallows, meals, follow throughs and airway screens. 

 

Room 7

Siemens Biplane Angiography Suite.  Used for angiography cases, nasendoscopies, biplane airway screens, palatograms.

 

Rooms 8-10

Paediatric Ultrasound Rooms. 

 

Rooms 13, 15-18

Women’s Ultrasound Rooms.

 

Computed Tomography (CT)

GE CT room. 

 

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Philips MRI suite. 

 

Mobile X-ray Units 

We have 3 mobile x-ray machines, situated throughout the hospital.  1 in the department. 1 in Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) and 1 next to Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU).  The key for each mobile machine stays on the unit in the hopper.

 

Image Intensifiers/Fluoroscan

There are 2 image intensifier units.  One is parked next to theatre 2 and one parked next to theatre 5.  The key for each unit lives down on the notice board in the general x-ray area.

There are 2 Fluoroscan units.  One is parked up in the theatre storage area and one in orthopaedic clinic.  They do not require a key.  A password CHECKMATE, is required to operate this unit.

 

Resuscitation Room in A/E

There is an x-ray tube and control panel in the resus room.  This is utilized with the digital radiography (DR) plate that lives in resus.  Hence, you do not need to take cassettes to resus if undertaking examinations there.
