Royal Adelaide Hospital is an 800 bed tertiary referral hospital located in the centre of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. The RAH has a helipad and 60 bed ICU. Nuclear Medicine Services run Mon - Fri Business hours, with on call for Nuclear Medicine Technologists, the on call Technologist can be called back in at any time.

It is the major teaching hospital for the University Of Adelaide School Of Medicine and for Allied Health Students from the University of South Australia.

The Emergency Department has 46 patient cubicles, and 4 separate resuscitation areas.

The Emergency Department has approximately 55,000 patient attendances per year, Radiology performs approximately 130, 000 examinations per year over all modalities.

Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest trauma centre for the State of South Australia seeing over 1,500 major trauma cases annually. It is supported by these on-site specialist units:

            • cardiothoracic
            • neurosurgical
            • orthopaedic
            • burns
            • spinal injuries
            • hyperbaric medicine
            • The Burns, Spinal and Hyperbaric units are the sole referral units for SA and the NT.

The RAH is approximately 900 metres from Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace. Buses also travel frequently along Port Road, West Terrace, North Terrace and Currie Street.
