Attending on Your First Day

Please attend the Outpatient Medical Imaging department on level 3 on your first day. This is located within the main foyer of the hospital- if entering from the main entrance, turn left in front of the coffee shop.

Student Lockers
There are lockers located in the Staff Rooms on each floor of Medical Imaging. These lockers can be
set each day with a pin number and are for daily use only. Please ask a staff member to show you
where these are on your allocated floor and how to use.

Sign In Procedure
There is a sign in book located in Level 3 Outpatients General X-ray, adjacent to the main foyer of the
hospital. Please sign in and out each day with your start time and location, this allows us to account
for you at all times.

Absent Call Procedure
If you are not attending placement for any reason please call 7074 4524 before your designated start
time and speak to the clinical supervisor or team leader.

ID cards
There are 8 student ID passes that are available for use for students and will be allocated to you on
arrival for your first day. The Royal Adelaide Hospital has swipe card access for staff through
most doors of the hospital so it is imperative that you keep this safe and bring it each day. These will
need to be handed back at the end of placement. Please report any lost cards immediately to the
Clinical Supervisor.

Student Noticeboard
Located in Level 3 Outpatient X-ray. Please check this every day when signing in for updates and last minute changes.

Feedback Sheets
During your placement it is imperative you have radiographers fill out feedback sheets that will assist
in providing feedback and guidance and also in filling out your assessments. It is recommended you
ask for at least 2 per week to be completed so that there is at least 1 per week completed and handed in by the radiographers. Photocopies of the sheets are available from the Level 3 Outpatients X-ray checking area (near student whiteboard) and the locked box to submit completed forms is in the same location.
