Rostering

Student rostering will be discussed at the commencement of your placement as it can vary according to student numbers, year level and individual needs.

Meal Breaks

You are entitled to a 1hr lunch break which will be taken at either 1200 or 1300 depending on your allocated work area and workflow. This will be advised daily by Radiographers you   are working with.

You are also able to take a tea break – timing of this will be determined by workload. Most of our Radiographers forego this as they are permitted to take drinks into their respective work areas.

  • Your access card will be allocated to you at the commencement of your placement and is to be returned upon completion of your clinical placement.
  • Use of this access card can be tracked and monitored - please ensure it is used appropriately and during your daily clinical placement hours only.
  • Damage to, or loss of, your allocated access card must be reported to your clinical supervisor immediately.
  • Entry to most areas of the hospital is via swipe card access at wall mounted units as shown in picture below:

The light will change from red to green when access is permitted.

Exit from areas is generally via a push-button marked ‘press here to exit’, located near the door.

Student Lockers

Students will have access to a locker to store bags and belongings for the duration of their placement. This will be allocated to you at the commencement of your placement.

Side Markers

It is a requirement of LMH Medical Imaging to use metallic side markers wherever possible. Electronic markers should only be applied if a side marker has failed to display, they should not be utilised as the acceptable ‘normal’ means of identifying sides.
