There is a communal fridge to store food in the departmental tearoom. Microwave, toaster, kettle etc. available for student use.

A wide variety of restaurants and cafes are located walking distance from the department on Melbourne Street and O’Connell Street.

Within the Hospital

The Café/Mai Kuu

The Cafe on the second floor of the Gilbert Building is run by Nutrition and Food Services. The Kaurna name for the Café is Mai Kuu, which means “Place of food, eating, physical nourishment”. It serves a variety of hot and cold meals and Grab and Go Meals are available for purchase. The Cafe is open 7.30am - 7.30pm every day.  The Cafe is near the Department of Medical Imaging on level 2. When you exit the lift on level 2, you will find the Cafe to your left.

The Playdeck Café / Nic Nath

This café on the playdeck is also run by Nutrition and Food services. Opening Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 2:30pm.

Rainbows Shop

Rainbows Kiosk is situated in the Kermode Street foyer. The Kiosk sells a variety of food and drinks including sandwiches, snack foods
and coffee. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am -4:30pm (hours may change subject to volunteer numbers)

Vic’s Coffee Shop

Vic’s Coffee shop is situated in the Queen Victoria Building Foyer, selling a variety of food and drinks including sandwiches, snack foods and coffee. Opening hours are Thursday and Friday 8:30-5:00pm  (hours may change subject to volunteer numbers)
