113760 RESOLVING HAEMORRHAGE IN THE LEFT LENTIFORM NUCLEUS AND PULVINAR
The patient had a history of hypertension under treatment for 3 years. She presented following sudden collapse and loss of consciousness. She showed signs of right hemiplegia, right hemianopia and upper motor neurone paralysis of the right seventh nerve.
The specimen shows haemorrhage in the left internal capsule extruding posteriorly to involve left optic radiation. Some brownish discolouration is apparent indicating the lesion is at least some days old.
