17443              TERATOMA OF TESTIS

The testis is greatly enlarged and measures 15 x 10 cms.  It is entirely replaced by tumour which shows many small cystic cavities, fibrous septa, cellular areas and areas of necrosis and a few small haemorrhages.  Tumour is infiltrating into the lower end of the cord.  Histology shows areas of cartilage, enteric and respiratory epithelium with much loose connective tissue.  Some areas resemble seminoma.
