298                  PERNICIOUS ANAEMIA OF THE SPLEEN

 

The patient was a man aged 62 who died in 1923, his haemoglobin being 48 gms/l two weeks before death.

 

The specimen consists of the spleen which has been divided and has the characteristic orange/brown colour of haemosiderosis.
