25035              RENAL ARTERY THROMBOSIS WITH INFARCTION OF THE KIDNEY

 

This 63 year old man had a long history of excessive alcohol intake, and was admitted with congestive cardiac failure.  He died on the third hospital day.  There is acute antemortem thrombus occluding the lumen of the right renal artery.  There is accompanying recent infarction of almost the entire kidney.
