80                    GUMMA OF TESTIS

This lesion was diagnosed as tuberculous epidiymorchitis.  There was irregular firm enlargement of the whole testis.  The head of the epididymis felt craggy and there was nodular thickening of the lower pole.  After the testis had been removed surgically and examined a Wasserman reaction was performed.  It was strongly positive.  The testis is enlarged and measures 6 x 4 x 4 cms.  Its cut surface shows pale gummatous enlargement with some irregular areas of the pale necrosis.  The epididymis is not well displayed but shows little abnormality.
