3923                HEALED PRIMARY TUBERCULOSIS

No clinical information is available for this old specimen which was an incidental postmortem finding.  A small encapsulated caseous tuberculous focus lies just beneath the pleura in the posterior segment of the upper lobe.  Mounted separately is a small portion of trachea to show the involved lymph node related to the pulmonary focus (Ghon lesion).
