9252 CYST OF EPIDIDYMIS, HYDROCELE AND VARICOCELE
The patient was a man aged 59 with a 5 weeks history of headache, drowsiness and progressive dementia. At postmortem a well differentiated astrocytic glioma was found in the left temporal lobe.
The specimen consists of half of both testes together with the lower 10 cms of the spermatic cords. In the left testis there is a cyst in the head of the epididymis measuring 2.5 x 2 x 2 cms. It has a thin fibrous wall and contains milky fluid in which spermatozoa were identified. The other testis shows a small hydrocele in the tunica vaginalis and a well developed varicocele in the form of a large mass of dilated tortuous veins in the spermatic cord.
