16358              CARCINOMA OF THYROID

No clinical information is available except that the patient was a man aged 76.  At operation a tumour weighing 208gm was excised.

The specimen consists of half the excised mass which originally measured 9 x 6 x 7 cms.  The cut surface shows irregular lobulated fleshy tissue with some areas of haemorrhage and necrosis.  Histology showed a well differentiated papillary carcinoma.
