9372                CYSTS OF RIGHT SUPRARENAL

An incidental finding at autopsy in a woman aged 58 who died of intestinal obstruction from an old adherent band in the right iliac fossa.  The right suprarenal at its upper pole contains three separate unilocular cysts.  In the wall of these cysts are several calcified nodules.  Cysts of the suprarenal gland are rare.  Reported cases are usually haematocysts or lymphangiectatic cysts.  This specimen is probably the latter in view of the contained fluid and lack of pigmentation in the walls.
